This image shows the nuclear fragmentation that occurs during osteogenic induction of mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC). MSC reside in many tissues and have the potential to form bone under the right laboratory conditions. This picture was captured using confocal microscopy and shows hydroxyapatite in green (stained with OsteoImage, Lonza) and nuclei in blue (DAPI stain).
